Shark Cage Diving

Further afield but definitely worth the drive and the experience is Shark Cage Diving in Gansbaai. Gansbaai is approximately 2 hours from Chelaya and we can organize transport for guests should it be required.

If you are a brave heart attempting this experience then you will need to know the following:

Chum is thrown into the water to attract the sharks and the crew pull decoys towards the cage to bring the sharks closer. You will be safely secured in the cage and, guided by the dive master, completely submerged…… waiting in anticipation as those beady eyes come into view!

If you are just along for the ride as a spectator, you can experience the sight of the great white sharks from above.
The shark is an inquisitive creature and often comes right up to the boat.
