Golf: There are numerous first class golf estates within 15 – 20 minutes of Chelaya. Chelaya also offers golfing packages for groups of 2, 4 or 6 people, which include day excursions in and around Cape Town.

Erinvale Golf Estate

Set alongside the beautiful Vergelegen wine estate and at the foot of the Helderberg Mountain, this is a challenging course with its hills and dales making a golf cart a must. It heralds views of False Bay and the Hottentots Holland mountain range and borders the Somerset West Nature Reserve with its Cape fynbos. If you are lucky, you may spot the Bontebok while playing or perhaps hear the resident fish eagles above.

Kleine Zalze Golf Estate

This golf estate is set between Somerset West and Stellenbosch in the winelands on the R44. It has stunning mountain views and players can watch small aircraft as they cross the course on the flight path to and from the Stellenbosch Airfield.

Arabella Golf Estate

If you are prepared to drive out further, approximately 45 minutes, or would like Chelaya to organize transport for you, the Arabella Sheraton Golf Estate is definitely worth a visit. It stretches through rolling fairways, deceptive bunkers and challenging water traps. A truly unique golf course set on the banks of the Bot River Lagoon and fringed by indigenous wild flowers.

Stellenbosch

This course has hosted both the SA Open and Masters Championships and provides a true challenge to any golfer. It is situated at the foot of the Helderberg Mountains in the heart of the Stellenbosch winelands and is very picturesque.

Strand Gold Course

An excellent professional is available at this course, for those requiring coaching. Situated within walking distance from the beach, with large fairways, difficult water hazards and stunning mountain views, this course is definitely worth a visit.

Kleinmond Golf Course

This course is flanked by the Kogelberg Mountains, with a sea view virtually from every hole. It is a challenging 9-hole course, with 18 different tees, a natural Fynbos rough, and is in immaculate condition. The club members are extremely friendly, with visitor’s being most welcome, and the Fynbos which includes Protea’s and Erica’s is truly beautiful.
