“I can’t wait until next summer!”
I have just spent a month holiday here at Chelaya Country Lodge. Words cannot explain the tranquillity of this exquisite place. Absolute bliss and awesomeness all in one! I have found my 2nd home! Fantastic! From the Rooster and his hens visiting to the dogs popping in for a pat and an odd chop bone, to the ducks, the geese and one must not forget the weird looking Tina Turner hairstyle chicken that wanders around. Even the gang of Guinea fowl wandering through every day. I have stayed before in the main house but this time I stayed in the Milk Shed. What a pleasure to be able to have a braai almost every day. The cleaning ladies remembered me from last year, so this year I brought my old laptop and gave it to one of the ladies. As it was festive season I gave them each a Xmas Box as you call it in South Africa. Also made sure the gardeners got as well. All in all it was a superb holiday! I have traveled the world and I have seen a lot but this place wins it all hands down! I can recommend Chelaya Country Lodge to anyone who needs a break from the hustle and bustle. 10/10 Rating!!!

“A dreamlike experience.”
We had the most beautiful time of our life at Chelaya Country Lodge. It was my son Ashley's wedding, We live in Australia and all our other family in Gauteng, We booked the whole country lodge out for the week of the wedding. The service was excellent, we had clean rooms and a clean kitchen every morning after a late night of visiting with our amazing family that we only see once a year. The rooms was always clean and very spacious, and the country lodge is near everything, shops, wine farms and 5km away from Waterkloof – the wedding venue. The people we dealt with at the lodge was so professional and helped us accommodate all the rooms with our family. The most enjoyable, end of a busy day at the lodge was just to relax at the lovely pool and sit on the deck with good South African wines, looking at the sunset. We, the whole family, will definitely come back to Chelaya Country Lodge again.

“Everything we wanted and more.”
This is the most amazing place. we couldn't have asked for better. The atmosphere and scenery was absolutely stunning. Everything was perfect. The setup of the house and rooms were cosy and made you feel at home. Chelaya Country Lodge is by far the best place to have family reunions and a perfect place to relax and have a good time. We want to thank Shamel for all her help with arranging this beautiful place for us and allowing us to have the best weekend of our lives. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a good place to stay.

What a lovely, relaxing retreat for the whole family. Lovely grounds to entertain the children, with ducks and chickens to feed. A BEAUTIFUL swimming pool, overlooking the sea. Perfect location, close to attractions, yet in the country. We were welcomed like family and treated like royalty. Everything was clean, and tidy, and beautifully decorated, with immaculate attention to detail. Staff and owners very pleasant, and more than helpful. We loved Cheza the dog.

“Unforgettable.”
We arrived home safely on September 3 (2 days earlier than expected) because everything went through so quickly in Johannesburg. Our stay at Chelaya County Lodge was special to Nana because it reminded her of life on the farm in the U.S. (She grew up on a farm). Please tell everyone that your efforts made us so comfortable and we felt right at home. The grounds are ideal for families with children and the house and cottage are wonderful accommodations. We personally thank you for your local knowledge and where to go to see the beautiful countryside and for introducing us to the local food and laundry. Ooskus Fish and Chips was the highlight of our dining experience. (Please tell your sister-in-law). We ate Kingklip and are sad that we can't find it here.
Your country is so beautiful and to us Cape Town and the surrounding area was like a paradise. Thank you for being a wonderful hostess and seeing that every request we made was filled.
The boys are adjusting well and finding new curiosities daily. We have so many pictures that we made around the lodge area that we will never forget each of you and your hospitality. Thank you again for everything and for making this part of our trip very memorable for each of us. Please tell the ladies who serviced the cottage and house we said hello and we thank them again for their hard work and to the guys who are the groundskeepers.
